Buy the Origami Dress and Top sewing pattern from The Maker’s Atelier. This style, designed to be made in stretch jersey fabrics, is deceptively simple to make and exceptionally beautiful to wear. The asymmetric twist at the centre front cleverly drapes and falls in soft folds, while the drop shoulder creates a subtly elegant batwing effect. Options are given for long or short sleeves, or no sleeves for a capped sleeve look.

Suggested fabrics: Suitable for jersey fabrics only including cotton, viscose and silk jerseys. Viscose/elastane jerseys are most suitable for their weight and drape. It is possible to make the sleeveless top in woven crinkle fabrics (as shown in the image gallery) but they need stretch and fluidity.

Fabric requirements: 

Long sleeve dress: 115 cm wide fabric: 2.4 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1.8 m.

Long sleeve top: 115 cm wide fabric: 1.35 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1.25 m.

Short sleeve top: 115 cm wide fabric: 1.35 m // 150 cm wide fabric: 1 m.

Sizing: 8 – 18 (approx. UK 8 – 16/18, based on our standardised size chart). Please also check the designer’s size chart and finished garment measurements.

PDF pattern includes: Instructions; A4/US letter print-at-home pattern (32 pages); A0 copy shop pattern (2 sheets) // Layers: No // Projector file: No. Please note you must print all sizes to ensure no pieces or markings are lost.
